Does solar powered outdoor lighting work with ESP32 & esphome?

I just finished what turned out to be probably the biggest smarthome project I’ve tackled so far - adding solar powere smart lighting to my wood shed. It’s totally over engineered, but looks great and works really well.
How much power does an ESP use?
No valuable data yet. The ESP draws 60mA while running (5 secs every 30 mins) and about 5mA in deepsleep. The datasheet of the battery promises no efficiency loss from -40°C to 60°C. So I calculate with months rather than days in runtime.
Why do I need a 5V power supply for ESP32?
This will save a bit of power and also makes sure that there is no power flowing in the cables outside the box for most of the time, which may help in the event of a leaky connection. In order to do this I’m not running the ESP32 from the same 5V supply, instead using one of the USB ports from the solar controller.
What happens if the ESP voltage drops below a certain value?
If the Voltage drops below a certain value shutdown is triggered by the the ESP itself. Everything beside the actual sensor is inside and IP67 water and dustproof case. The HASS package is just for the state card, the mqtt sensors and some templates and a notification automation if the battery is empty (persistent and pushbullet).
